A timely reminder from a friend… it’s a sad fact that many Muslims will be breaking their fast with Israeli dates – we may as well be break our fast with the blood of Palestinians.
The supermarkets have stocked up on dates, ready for Ramadan. Most of these dates are Israeli. Let us make sure that the supermarkets get the message that Israeli produce will not sell. Make sure you check the “Country of Origin” label before you buy any dates.

I have a question regarding the proposition of halal kfc.

You probbaly would have heard that HFA have now given permission to KFC to sell halal food.

When I went onto the HFA website, I have read something that is bringing doubts in my mind. Can u please clarify if the slaughtering method mentioned belows islamically correct? or is this another difference of opinons amongst the scholars?

Mechanical Slaughtering still requires Muslim slaughtermen to be present at the slaughtering station to do the rendition/tasmiyah (Bismillahi-Allahu-Akbar)on birds as they pass through a sharp fixed blade.The only differencebetween manual and mechanical slaughter is that the knife used by
slaughtermen on a manual line has now been transformed into a fixed blade performing the same task.

While Mars UK has backflipped over the use of animal extracts in some of its chocolate confectionery - including Mars and Snickers bars - ingredients used in its other products, such as Twix, Bounty, Celebrations, Topic and Milky Way, will not be changed, meaning they will continue to be unsuitable for vegetarians.
